Nottingham University Technical College will become a beacon of educational excellence, providing first class technical and academic education for young people in the East Midlands, showcasing collaboration with business and transforming the supply of a skilled workforce to the local, regional and national economies. The UTC will specialise in Engineering, Science and IT. Alongside a concentration on the STEM subjects, the UTC's innovative curriculum provision will also build on links with those closely involved with Information Technology, creative industries, bioengineering and the "Green Economy" agenda, with a powerful opportunity to use the College building itself as a curriculum resource in studying sustainability and renewable resources. Amongst commitments already secured is an exciting move from Toshiba who plan to establish a Regional Training Centre and a Technology Innovation Centre with the UTC to provide the students with industry standard technological, engineering and technical training and development. "Amongst the resources we intend to deploy shall be those that reside within our highest-performing faculties in disciplines that align with the UTC's specialisms." Professor David Greenaway, Vice Chancellor, University of Nottingham "We look forward to being an integral part of the Nottingham University Technical College." Len Daniels, Education & Public Sector Manager, Toshiba
