Mulberry UTC, which opens in September 2017, will provide pioneering employer-led education, developing young people aged 14-19 as innovators and experts within its specialisms of creative industries, health industries and digital technologies.
These specialisms relate directly to local skills gaps and to career opportunities in large and emerging local business sectors. The UTC’s sponsors are committed to local recruitment and are actively seeking skilled, industry-ready young people. Mulberry UTC is sponsored by Goldsmiths, University of London, The British Film Institute, The National Theatre and Barts Health NHS Trust.
With state-of-the-art facilities and guidance from excellent teachers, Mulberry UTC will create a supportive environment within which all students can achieve their potential, with graduates progressing to university, apprenticeship or skilled employment in their chosen specialist areas.
Graduates of Mulberry UTC will be self-motivated, independent learners whose experiences in industry and with employers will ensure they can thrive in the world outside school.
We are delighted to be working with Mulberry UTC to deliver a curriculum which reflects the current and future needs of the creative industries.Patrick Loughrey
