Liverpool Life Sciences UTC is the first school in the UK specialising in Science and Health Care for 14-19 year olds.
The UTC provides outstanding academic and vocational education by working closely with local employers to create the next generation of scientists, healthcare practitioners, engineers and entrepreneurs.
Each post-16 student will be invited to apply for placement opportunities, including time at The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University NHS Trust, The University of Liverpool and businesses Redx Pharma and Pro-Lab Diagnostics.
The Care Academy at Liverpool Life Sciences UTC allows students the opportunity to develop their health and social care skills within the NHS and the wider healthcare sector.
Its students also take part in a number of enrichment activities including music, fitness and media to ensure they have a CV/personal statement that is second to none.
As a venture which will respond to demand from industry whilst broadening economic opportunities to new areas of the city in a sector which is critical to the city's future economy, the University is very pleased to support the application to establish the Life Sciences UTC.Professor Sir Howard Newby
