Bristol Technology and Engineering Academy opened in 2013. It is a centre of excellence for 14-19 year olds who have a particular interest in engineering and environmental technology and wish to study these specialist technical areas alongside core academic subjects as part of their GCSE and A Level curriculum.
The UTC is supported by many local employers and UWE who give students the opportunity to participate in a range of activities in addition to traditional classroom-based learning. These include visits, workshops, work experience programmes and various practical projects.
Bristol Technology and Engineering Academy focusses on developing students' key skills in the subject areas that really interest them, enabling them to get a head start at university or in employment.
