The Government's announcement to create new technical academies
is welcomed by the University Technical Colleges.
'We will improve the quality of vocational education,
including increasing flexibility for 14-19 year olds and creating
new Technical Academies as part of our plans to diversify schools
provision.'

University Technical Colleges support the Government's aims to
reform the school system and will be at the forefront of tackling
educational inequality and ensuring high standards. The UTC mission
is to provide innovative and empowering education and training for
students with aptitude for engineering and technological based
careers. Through our university and college lead sponsors and our
links with business and industry there are strong progression
routes for students to enter higher education and relevant
employment. A number of new projects are moving forward and a new
generation of technical academies is under way.
